On Wednesday, 28th<\/sup>\u00a0May 2025, Promasidor Nigeria launched\u00a0\u201cIkun Milk Day\u201d,<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0a\u00a0Corporate Social Responsibility\u00a0initiative, to give back to the host community of Ikun Dairy Farm (the subsidiary of Promasidor\u00a0Nigeria) in an impactful and sustainable way,\u00a0by providing free fresh milk\u00a0to\u00a0primary school pupils in Ikun-Amure Ekiti, Ekiti State.\u00a0The\u00a0programme,\u00a0targeted at\u00a0all primary school children in the community,\u00a0will\u00a0provide\u00a0fresh milk\u00a0to\u00a0the\u00a0pupils\u00a0and educate them on dairy farming and nutrition.<\/p>\n

The event,\u00a0which\u00a0stands as a strong testament to Promasidor\u2019s commitment to\u00a0championing education in Nigeria,\u00a0was graced by several dignitaries, including the Governor of Ekiti State, His Excellency Abiodun Oyebanji, the Minister of Livestock Development, Alhaji Idi Mukhtar Maiha, represented by Mr. Victor Egbon, Director of\u00a0Ruminant\u00a0and Monogastric\u00a0Livestock Development,\u00a0the Olojebu of Oke-Ijebu, HRM, Oba Ezekiel Idowu-Awe, and the Onikun of Ikun, Oba Olatunde David\u00a0Olusola.<\/p>\n

Other notable attendees included senior officials of the Ekiti State Government and Promasidor\u2019s leadership team: Eno Udoma-Eniang (Director, Corporate Affairs & IDF), Stanley Eluwa (Director, Human Resources & Corporate Services), Brighton Ochieng (Chief Technical Officer),\u00a0as well as\u00a0the\u00a0acting General Manager, Ikun\u00a0Dairy\u00a0Farm, Langton Tizora, among others.<\/p>\n

In her welcome address, Dr. Eno Udoma-Eniang, who represented the CEO, Francois Gillet, expressed appreciation to all guests and reaffirmed Promasidor\u2019s dedication to delivering impactful and sustainable initiatives that improve lives.\u00a0She added that \u201cthe significance of this program extends beyond mere distribution of milk as research has shown that proper nutrition is fundamental to cognitive development and academic performance.\u201d<\/p>\n

Delivering the keynote address, Governor Oyebanji commended Promasidor for the Ikun Milk Day initiative. \u201cThis initiative is not just about milk\u2014it\u2019s about securing the future of our children,\u201d he stated. \u201cPromasidor exemplifies what a true partnership with the people looks like\u2014leveraging local resources to uplift lives. We are proud that Ikun Dairy Farm is central to this transformative mission.\u201d\u00a0Governor Oyebanji also said that his government would not relent in its efforts to ensure that every child in the state has access to quality education and nutrition, which, according to him, are the bedrock of his administration\u2019s development agenda.<\/p>\n

Reinforcing the initiative\u2019s significance, Mr. Egbon highlighted the revitalization of the Ikun Dairy Farm as a milestone in Nigeria\u2019s agricultural sector, praising the partnership between Promasidor and the Ekiti State Government for turning a previously dormant facility into a model of modern dairy production.<\/p>\n

Following a vote of thanks by Brighton Ochieng, Governor Oyebanji led a selected group on a tour of the dairy farm. Thereafter, the guests proceeded to AUD-CAC Nursery & Primary School, where the milk distribution to pupils officially began. The Governor ceremoniously cut the ribbon and enjoyed a cup of fresh milk before helping distribute it to the students.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
