Crown International School Wins Third Edition of Cowbell Kapu Sens Quiz Competition in Sierra Leone

Cowbell continues to demonstrate its commitment to supporting the educational sector in Sierra Leone through its annual inter-secondary school quiz competition, the Cowbell Kapu Sens Challenge. The 2025 competition, the third edition, was held under the theme “Nurturing the Spirit of Patriotism through Civic Education”. The competition ran from 8th to 15th November 2025, with Crown International School emerging as the overall winner.

A total of thirty-two secondary schools participated in this year’s Cowbell Kapu Sens Challenge. Prior to the competition, all participating schools were visited during their school assemblies, where pupils were briefed on the competition and enjoyed wet samples of Cowbell and Twisco.

The competition officially commenced on 8th November 2025 at the Albert Academy Secondary School Hall, in recognition of the school’s performance in the second edition. At this stage, 16 schools were eliminated, while 16 advanced to the next round. The Round of 16 and the Grand Finale were held at the Fourah Bay College Multi-purpose Hall on 15th November 2025. The final day was both educational and entertaining, featuring comedy performances and poem recitals by pupils. Participants also won several prizes throughout the event.

In his keynote address, Alpha Bangura, Acting Director of School Quality Assurance at the Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education, commended Cowbell for creating a platform that allows pupils to showcase their academic abilities. He described the initiative as an act of patriotism and encouraged pupils to uphold their civic responsibilities and stay away from harmful drugs.

Addressing the audience, Kenneth Konuah, Country Manager of Premium Divine Trading Company, assured schools that the Cowbell Kapu Sens Challenge would remain an ongoing initiative. He further announced plans to expand school participation nationwide and to increase rewards for both participating schools and winners. During the event, he also officially launched the new Cowbell Evaporated Fat filled Milk.

Crown International School of Waterloo, emerged as winners, receiving a cash prize of NLE 15,000, a trophy, and medals. Hannah B. Peter of Crown International School was awarded Best Quizzer. St. Edward’s Secondary School secured second place with NLE 10,000, a trophy, and medals, while Sunday Foundation School placed third, winning NLE 7,000, a trophy, and medals. All 32 participating schools received cartons of Cowbell Evaporated Milk, Twisco, and Drink -O-Pop, while individual participants were awarded certificates.

The event was live-streamed on the Premium Divine Trading Company Facebook Page and received extensive media coverage from AYV TV, Star TV, SLBC, Radio Democracy 98.1 FM, and The Calabash Newspaper.
